I send a complaint email to TM net regarding the slow download speed for peer-to-peer application and asked whether they have shaped our download speed to international peers to prevent p2p users to drain their bandwidth.

And this is the reply I got from them

“Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our automated feedback system has forwarded to us for our attention and reply.

With regards to your query and slow transfer rate on peer-to-peer programs, we would like to inform that TM Net does not throttle the speed of your connections. Please be informed that, your connection speed is based upon the connection speed given by the other party. Should they can only upload 1Kb per minute, you as well will have the same.

Please  be informed that we have lodged a report regarding your slow connection. Upon checking in our system, we noted that the issue is currently in progress for rectification. Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated.”

And according to some rumors saying that the server in cyberjaya is having some difficulties which causing some problems to the connection to international.

I hope that is true and I will be able to get my speed back once that is fixed and TM net did not throttle the speed for now and in the future. p2p for life~!
